About St. Oswald, Broadwaters
Our building is a 1960’s-built dual purpose church/community hall, set within Broadwaters Park. The open grassed area is where the original church stood; the current Centre formerly being the Church Hall adjacent to the church, before the church was demolished.
The Church Centre provides an important meeting place for the local community and hosts a number of groups who meet regularly. These include Tai Chi, Keep Fit, Extend, Sequence Dance, Line Dancing, Mums and Toddlers, Ladies Club, Bird Club and Dancing classes. The Centre is available for hire for private functions.
St. Oswald’s Church has been one half of a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) with Broadwaters Methodist Church since 2007. The two congregations worship together regularly, including Harvest Festival, Palm Sunday, Christmas Carol Service and Praise in the Park; there are also joint study groups.
