St Mary's Ladies Fellowship

ST MARY’S LADIES FELLOWSHIP

PLEASE NOTE THAT CURRENTLY WE ARE UNABLE TO MEET DUE TO THE COVID19 RESTRICTIONS. PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE FOR UPDATES. STAY SAFE.

St Mary’s Ladies Fellowship meets in St Mary’s Chantry at 7.30 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday of the month unless notified otherwise and weather permitting!

Our annual programme is a varied one with something for everyone: a series of wide-ranging talks by local speakers or members of the Fellowship themselves, informal themed social evenings, a theatre outing, craft evenings, summer meal and Christmas lunch.

Founded by Pat Griggs on 17th April 1972, the Fellowship originally started as a Young Wives group although it was open to all ladies, married or single.  Today it continues in the spirit in which it was formed, and provides an important opportunity for members to enjoy not only each other’s company and friendship at the fortnightly meetings, but also the on-going active fellowship and support outside of the meetings practised and appreciated by all.

New members are very welcome, and we will always try to arrange transport upon request.

Normal meetings are, of course, suspended at the moment so we are unable to enjoy our time together.   We do, however, continue to function as a group with contact and support via telephone and social media - we even managed to meet up for a couple of informal lunches last year when we were able to.   Our support of the Teams 4 U Christmas Shoe Box Appeal with the collection of suitable items for some of the poorest children in the world, and of Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Night Stop with the collection of toiletries for young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, also continues.

Whilst St Mary’s Ladies Fellowship is a church group, not all ladies are members of St Mary’s congregation but are very much a part of the Fellowship, providing the friendship and support of each other which we have always aimed to achieve.  If you are lonely, if you would like someone to talk to and meet up with once we are able to do so - even if to start with it’s just a coffee in an open space - please get in touch and experience our fellowship for yourself.   You will be made very welcome.
