St. Mary and All Saints, Kidderminster
St Mary’s Ladies Fellowship meets in St Mary’s Chantry at 7.30 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday of the month unless notified otherwise and weather permitting!
Our annual programme is a varied one with something for everyone: a series of wide-ranging talks by local speakers or members of the Fellowship themselves, informal themed social evenings, a theatre outing, craft evenings, summer meal and Christmas lunch.
Founded by Pat Griggs on 17th April 1972, the Fellowship originally started as a Young Wives group although it was open to all ladies, married or single. Today it continues in the spirit in which it was formed, and provides an important opportunity for members to enjoy not only each other’s company and friendship at the fortnightly meetings, but also the on-going active fellowship and support outside of the meetings practised and appreciated by all.
New members are very welcome and we will always try to arrange transport upon request.
What has St Mary’s Ladies Fellowship been up to recently? Well, most recently, we enjoyed our Summer lunch at Bewdley Pines Golf Club. Excellent food, in a relaxed environment with good Fellowship. We began our year with a New Year party, with entertainment, (this year a magician!). The ladies enjoy informal evenings together every so often and the Committee arrange a fun themed meeting, for example, our recent Teddy Bears Picnic! More food and fun! On other evenings we have had speakers, sometimes from outside, sometimes within our Ladies Fellowship. These are times of learning more about our own community within St Mary's Parish and the wider world community. We have considered themes as diverse as St George's Park, and the Horsefair Kidderminster and Saudi Arabia. We have also had speakers talking about health/medical matters and have an evening set aside for craft, this is enjoyed by all and we have created some crafts which have been sold to raise money for St Mary's Roof Appeal. Whilst St Mary's Ladies Fellowship is a church group, not all ladies are members of St Mary's congregation but are very much a part of the fellowship, providing the friendship and support of each other which we have always aimed to achieve. Do come along and experience for yourselves our fellowship - you will be made very welcome.
